The Instagram Star Misha Agrawal Passed Away 2 Days Before Her 25th Birthday

Misha Agrawal passed away two days before she would have celebrated her 25th birthday. Misha Agrawal,  the beautiful, spirited creator behind @themishaagrawalshow,  left this world. Her parents confirmed the heartbreaking news through her official Instagram handle, and honestly, even as I sit down to write this, a lump forms in my throat. How do you make peace with the loss of someone who felt like a friend, even if you had only known them through a screen? How do you say goodbye to a soul that made you smile on your darkest days? The world feels a little colder today, a little dimmer.

A Life That Was So Much More Than Likes and Followers

When I first found Misha, it wasn’t because she was trending or collaborating with big brands.
It was one of those lonely nights, you know the kind, when sleep refuses to come and your mind feels heavier than your heart can bear, and there she was, laughing at her own silly jokes, talking about her heartbreaks, sharing her dreams in a way that felt so normal, so human.

She didn’t try to be perfect. She didn’t mask her emotions with heavily edited videos or filters so intense you barely recognised the face underneath.

Misha was… real. And in an online world obsessed with curated perfection, she was a breath of fresh air.

She was more than an influencer. She was a storyteller, a sister figure to so many, a dreamer with messy hair and an even messier laugh. And God, how we loved her for that.

The Silent Battles: Misha’s Journey With Depression

As much as she radiated warmth on the outside, Misha was also fighting an invisible war within.

In some of her rawer moments,  the ones that didn’t always get the same engagement as her funnier videos,  she opened up about her struggles with mental health.

She talked about the crushing weight of expectations. About the exhaustion of waking up every day and pretending to be “okay” because that’s what everyone expects from you once you wear the influencer label.

It’s easy to forget, isn’t it?

We see someone smile, and we assume they’re happy.

We see someone achieve things we dream of, and we think their life must be perfect.

But smiles can be heavy masks.

And success… sometimes, it just builds a bigger cage around a hurting heart.

Misha was honest about her depression. Brave, even. But sometimes, honesty isn’t enough to quiet the monsters inside.

The Dark Side of Fame: How Cyberbullying Scarred Her

It’s something that still makes my heart ache when I think about it.

During her early YouTube days, Misha was subjected to the kind of cruelty that would break the strongest spirits.

Anonymous trolls flooded her comments. Meme pages ripped apart her videos without mercy.

She was called “too loud,” “too desperate,” “too fake,” and for what?

For having the courage to put herself out there, flaws and all?

People loved to mock her without realising,  or maybe without caring,  that there was a real person behind that screen. A young woman who read every cruel word and carried them like stones in her pocket.

I remember once, she addressed the hate directly in one of her vlogs. Not angrily. Not bitterly. Just… tired.

“I’m just trying to do what I love,” she said, her voice trembling ever so slightly. “If you don’t like me, you can leave. But please… just let me be.”

That plea ,  so simple, so human ,  still rings in my ears today.

    Fame, But At What Cost?

It’s easy to glamorise the life of an influencer.

The brand deals, the fan messages, the gifts, the endless stream of opportunities- it sounds like a dream. But behind the scenes, there’s a hidden cost that nobody talks about enough: the cost of being constantly seen. Every mistake is magnified. Every bad hair day turned into a meme. Every unpopular opinion is weaponised against you. For someone as sensitive and genuine as Misha, that must have been suffocating.

Imagine waking up to hundreds of comments picking apart your appearance, your voice, your existence. Imagine pouring your heart into something, only to have it dismissed with a laughing emoji. Imagine knowing that no matter what you do, it will never be “enough” for the faceless crowd. No wonder so many influencers burn out. No wonder so many, like Misha, struggle silently while the world cheers and jeers from the sidelines.

    She Was One Of Us

Misha wasn’t born with a silver spoon. She didn’t have a famous last name or an industry godfather.
She built everything she had from scratch,  armed with nothing but her humour, her grit, and that incredible spark in her eyes.

In a way, she represented all of us who have dared to dream out loud.
She showed us that you didn’t need to fit into a mould to matter.
That you could be goofy, imperfect, vulnerable,  and still be loved.

And for a while, it worked.
She was loved. Fiercely, by a community that saw themselves in her.

Maybe that’s why this loss feels so personal.
Because losing Misha feels like losing a little piece of ourselves.

    Why Kindness Matters,  Always

I keep thinking about how many times Misha must have smiled through pain.
How many videos she must have posted while battling thoughts too heavy for words.
How many moments she must have doubted if she was good enough.

What if we had been kinder?
What if every time someone left a hateful comment, ten others had flooded her inbox with love instead?
What if we had told her, louder and more often, that she mattered?

It’s easy to think our words don’t make a difference.
But they do. God, they do.

One kind message can be the reason someone decides to stay.
One hateful comment can be the reason they don’t.

    Lessons From Misha’s Story

    Misha’s passing isn’t just a tragedy,  it’s a call to action.
A reminder that we have the power to make the internet (and the world) a kinder place, one small action at a time.

Here’s what I hope we carry forward:

    • Be kind, even when you don’t have to be. You never know what silent battles someone is fighting.
    • Support mental health conversations. Normalise therapy. Normalise asking for help.
    • Think before you type. Words can heal or they can scar forever.
    • Celebrate authenticity. Don’t just reward perfection. Reward realness, vulnerability, and courage.
    • Check on your strong friends. Often, the ones who seem “fine” are the ones struggling most.

    A Personal Goodbye to Misha

    Misha Agrawal (@themishaagrawalshow), thank you.
Thank you for your messy bun days, your giggles, your honest tears.
Thank you for daring to be unapologetically yourself in a world that tried so hard to change you.

You were more than your numbers.
    More than your collaborations.
    More than your content.

You were human. And you were enough,  always.

I hope wherever you are now, you’re finally free.
Free from expectations, free from noise, free to just be.

We will miss you more than words can say.
But we will carry your light in our hearts forever.

    Rest easy, angel.
