    Bhubaneswar Foundation Day

Exactly today Bhubaneswar the capital city of Odisha observes its 72nd foundation day. As on 13th April 1948, under the supervision of Former Prime Minister of Independent India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru this day was declared as the capital city of Odisha. Bhubaneswar otherwise known as the Temple City has its beauty enshrined as temples As i belong to the same city i have so much to state yet there is no limit to it so i will stick to the topic only and describe about the foundation day.

However, on this particular day the Khurda District along with the state government celebrates the foundation of Bhubaneswar every year. A German architect and urban planner Otto Koenigsberger prepared the city’s first master plan in 1948 for a population of almost 40 thousand this being a planned city ever since its establishment it is also considered to be a modern city. With the current population of over 20 lakh the temple city however has still maintained to be in tier-2 category among cities. As there was a smart city proposal Bhubaneswar stood at first position among the best cities of India whereas it could secure only fifth position in view of good governance.

Temple city along with its high range of heritage resources showcases its significant sacred and  cultural landscape components which have evolved with the support of available natural resource with the time. It is easily seen in the city that it has some relations to the history as some architects belong to the 3rd century BCE. It is easily convincing by the architect of temples that the origin of Hindu heritage begins from here mainly of Hindu, Buddhist and Jain heritage.
